Horace Ellis
He represents the reason Del Webb communities incorporate softball fields in their developments. He comes to practices, always gives his best and has a great time at every game. Speed and strength are not the most important factors in the game but instead doing the best you can, being a great teammate, and always having a smile on your face. This person proves that the golden years can be the best years. At Wednesday’s game this person went four for five! Oh, and being the oldest Silver Slugger at almost 88 years old is another amazing quality of this Hall of Fame recipient, Horace Ellis.

Perry Gibson
This recipient has been involved in the WSSC for many years. He has been a player, coach, umpire and Council member. For many years, he spent countless hours maintaining the field, most times completely by himself. This encouraged others to step up and assist him in his efforts. Mindful of our limited resources in the early years, he researched to find the best way to keep our infield in the best shape possible. He had a passion for the field, and a lifelong passion for the game. So much so, that he married his wife right here on our field! Perry Gibson

Charm Mathis
She epitomizes everything that the WSSC stands for. She is a player, umpire, Council member and member of several softball committees. I don’t know of anyone else who has given more to the softball program and the WSSC than this person. She was also instrumental in the creation and maintenance of the Silver Sluggers website. Most noteworthy was the huge undertaking of the field renovation spearheaded by her. The result is a better and much safer field for all to play on. And bringing in the Breast Cancer Awareness games and fundraising took our club to another level in the eyes of our community here. I am also proud to call this Hall of Fame recipient a friend, Charm Mathis.

GEORGE MOFFAT
George was always an avid lover of sports his entire life, and coached his 4 sons in softball. When George and Marie moved to Woodbridge in 2010, George immediately signed up to be a Silver Slugger.
George was the oldest Silver Slugger and most inspirational player up until he became ill, but returned to the field as a devoted fan to the game. George played on every Silver Slugger team and always wore the matching color socks for each of his teams.
George loved the San Francisco Giants Catcher, Buster Posey, and found something in common with Buster, as George played catcher for the Silver Sluggers. George enjoyed the camaraderie of our players and umpiring at the corner.
